Our First Full Day in Costa Rica!

     Hello, Everyone! We are happy to report we are safe and sound at EARTH University and we have had a wonderful if exhausting day and a half! We arrived in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica, late Monday afternoon and after some complications renting our car, ended up spending the night in San Jose rather than attempting the long, arduous drive at night on poorly maintained roads through the mountains to EARTH.

     We have had many wonderful experiences already! Tonight, driving back to our house in the dark after dinner at the campus cafeteria, which we enjoyed surrounded by many dozens of college kids, we saw a smallish animal crossing the road in front of us.

     Hey, Everybody! This is what the Chowns will look like for much of the next six weeks...note the requisite sun hats and hiking boots, plus binoculars and loose fitting clothing! We had to try these outfits on for Aunt Bissy, Uncle Bob, Jake, and Suzanne on this bitterly cold Saturday night. It seemed the snowbank outside was a fitting background for the shot!
